A Lazy Week

I have a confession to make . . .

.  .  . My efforts to loose weight & become fitter seem to have escaped me this past week!

I am still cycling just over 6 miles to & from work each day but the motivation to do any additional exercise has not been forthcoming. I think it's probably my subconscious tell me winter's on the way & it's getting cold.  Despite this I have still done a couple of short jogs during the later part of this week, so not a complete loss. Just not to the same extent as last weeks level of exercise.

Now just too kick myself up the arse & get my head down next week, getting some serious exercise in!




 

Google Subscribed Links

This is something I stumbled over today & thought needs investigating further.

From 1st impressions it seems almost like a free version of Adwords, you target the specific Key Words you want to appear for. You enter a creative & compelling advert, with a link to your URL & then add a button (see below) onto your site.



Now I haven't quite established the link inbetween the button & people choosing to see your subscribed link whist searching Google. Although I'm sure this will become apparent with time . . .

For now here (or above) is my first attempt of Subscribed Links & hopefully it'll all become clear! If anyone else has comments or already mastered the Subscribed Links tool, please feel free to post them below

A typical August in Britain

1st of all I must apologise for the lack of blog posts the last few weeks. This has been due to a sudden influx of other items fighting for my attention & time.

Now I am going to do an extremely British thing - Moan about the weather. For centuries we have been at the receiving end of jokes about how we are never satisfied with the weather in England, unless that is when we are complaining about it to anyone who'll listen.

Well time old fashion - What has been going on with the weather this August?!

Apparently according to the men in white coats June was the hottest the North Hemisphere has experience since records began & it the 1st half of August is anything to go by this could be the wettest August since records began.

If one was unaccustomed to the British weather & were to look out of their window over the last few days, you'd be forgiven in thinking it was April not August. The sudden torrential down pours, separated by spells of beautiful warm sunshine. The phrase 'April Showers' comes to mind.

Now I don't expect England to suddenly have the same climate as the Med or even Alaska for that point . . . But I just wish it would make up its bloody mind!

A night in a Tipi

Last saturday I was lucky enough to experience spending a night in a tipi.

The whole reason was for a surprise birthday for a friend of ours, who I must add seemed to thoroughly enjoy himself!

The tipi's were provided by http://www.deepdalefarm.co.uk/tipis/index.asp who also have other camping & hostel available on site. Deepdale is situated just north Burnham Market, on the North Norfolk coast, in one of the most picturesque areas of the Norfolk coastline.

Each tipi will accommodate 6 people, will plenty of space spare. A chimera is provided in each, which when lit will provide sufficient heat to keep everyone warm. Provided for each person is a faux fur sleeping mat, of which is extremely comfortable, all you need is a sleeping bag or duvet.

I would highly recommend spending a night or two in a tee pee if you get the chance. As it provides all the fun elements or camping but with out any of the setting up required with conventional camping.
